Catrina's Earring

Catrina's Earring – Day of the Dead Skull Portrait in Bloom

A skeletal figure sits against deep black, her skull painted in the sugar-skull tradition: turquoise webbing across the brow, magenta scrollwork circling the eye sockets, a small heart at the nose. Marigolds, roses, and violet petals in orange, red, and purple crown her head like a living wreath. One bright orange skull dangles from her ear. The mood is reverent and a little defiant, painted in rich, glossy realism.

This piece belongs in our Macabre & Gothic selection, sits comfortably among People & Portraits, and carries the ritual weight of Spiritual & Religious art.

Sugar Skull, Crowned in Flowers

Turquoise and magenta paint trace an ornate skull framed by marigolds and roses. A single orange skull earring catches the light. Bold, beautiful, and unafraid of the dark.
